Do you want to be tan without the exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. Spray Tanning is the answer to the sunless tan you've always desired. Sunless tanning products contain an active ingredient called dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA when applied to your skin reacts with dead cells in the outermost layer of skin to temporarily darken the skins appearance. The coloring doesn't wash off, but gradually fades as the dead skin cells slough off. The Spray Tan is applied by a qualified technician that takes about 30-45 minutes to apply and requires an appointment. After your
airbrush tan you must wait a minimum of 8 hours before showering or working
out. Most people choose
a full body tan, but you may also have just your legs done, or just your upper
body (upper chest, neck, face and arms).
Information for preparation and after you receiving your
Spray Tan - You
should shower and exfoliate at least 4 hours prior to being
sprayed. If possible, apply nail polish or a clear to prevent the
possibility of the nails becoming discolored by the solution.
- Do
not apply lotions, creams, makeup, deodorant, or other products to
the skin prior to being sprayed.
- Wear loose fitting clothes
to the session so that upon leaving, the clothing is less likely to
rub off the product and treated skin surface.
- It
is possible that the garments you wear during the application, and
those you wear home could become stained by the tanning solution
depending on the type of fabric - especially if white or light
colored natural fibers. Wash all garments upon returning home.
- Do
not bathe, swim or otherwise get wet for a minimum of 8 hours after the
application. Please avoid light colored clothing or sitting on
light colored or leather furniture for several hours. The
still-active solution may transfer to materials and discolor
them.
- After the 8 hours, when
you bathe or shower, you may notice some color washing off - this
is merely the excess. It is normal, and will still leave you with a
deep tan.
- Keeping the skin
moisturized and not exfoliating will extend the life of your tan.
To achieve the darkest, longest-lasting tan, you should be spray
tanned again within 2 or 3 days of the first application, then
every week or two thereafter. Also, using a Tan Extender between
applications will give the tanned skin a darker and more even
appearance.
